Runtime Error?
Hello! I have been having the following error cause my game to stop,a few minutes after it begins:
I will try and access a listing of free agents, either on the managers home screen or on the main major league screen, and my cursor gets the hourglass thing going and the game stops responding. After a few minutes the following messasge appears: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!" "Program......Files\Sportinteractive\OOTPBaseball2 007\potp.2007.exe This applications has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for my information." I am playing around with a ficitonal league. When I discovered the game online, I downloaded the demo version. I then played the demo version until July 31, when the system makes you buy the game to quick playing. I did that, got the license, and activated my game. I didnt download the game again. As well, when I did get this error, I deactivated the license, uninstalled the game, reinstalled the game, and activated it again with my license. Still the same problem. Can anyone help me with this? This seems to be a really nice game, and a lotta fun. Thanks. |

May I say that you have a refreshing attitude towards Tech Support?
Since you haven't downloaded the game again, which version does it say you're playing on the table of contents page? It should say something like 2007.2.02.53. if the number ends in 2.50 or 1.43, please download and apply the second patch. Up in General Discussions there's a sticky which should direct you to the proper place for downloading. (Note: Using the ingame 'check for updates' feature may not work.) Edit: www.ootpbaseball.net/downloads.php Once you are certain that you're running the 2.53 version, experiment a little to see if your problem persists. If it does, post back here and eventually someone who knows much more about this than I do will reply. It may take some days to get a reply, so please don't bump this thread out of frustration. If your problem disappears, please post back to say so, so that this thread can be closed. Thank you. Last edited by Curtis; 05-24-2007 at 02:54 AM. Thank you very much for your response. As well, for the record, I did read someone in another post mention something about multiple displays and a similiar error message. I have two flat screen monitors. So, I have decided to go the regular route, and took off one of the flat screens. Note, I had to put in a new video card (Nvidia Ge Force 7300 GS) to support two monitors. I have a Gateway computer that has a Nvidia GeForce 6100 built into the motherboard that I am plugged into now, w/ only one monitor. I tried that earlier, running the program w/ only one monitor plugged in. Same problem.
I uninstalled, and am reinstalling the software via download. I reinstalled the driver for this video card (Nvidia Geforce 6100). I will follow your instructions above and see where that gets me, and repost w/ the results. For the record, everytime I run the program this is what seems to be happening: I set up a fictional league, patterned after american mlb, set myself up as the GM of a team. Then, a complete draft goes through. I go to the managers home page screen. And, when i click on the "Review your roster" tab on the upper left column of that screen, the page freezes for several minutes and then I get the aforementioned error. As well, at first, I wouldnt get the "Send a report/Dont sent a report to Microsoft" option, but on the last few tries, I have been getting the message and clicking on "send" to send them the report. Again, thanks for any help! |
