Setting Up a Historical League

Finally broke down and bought OOTPB 2007 and wanted to get a historical league up and running. I downloaded the Lahman database (comma deleted version) but need instructions from here.

Thanks

The League Creation Wizard should pretty much walk you through it.

eriqjaffe,

Thanks for your quick reply. I went that route, but I get a message telling me the loading failed. Where did I go wrong?

Thanks again.

A couple things to check:

1) Make sure you downloaded the comma-delimited version of the database.
2) Extract that to somewhere basic, like c:\stats
3) When the game asks you to find the database, point it towards c:\stats\master.csv
4) Whatever you do, don't bring in MacDougal in a close game.

This thread by Rasnell should help you out. Take a look around the historical forum

Thanks again. My problem seems to be getting the game to find the database. Also, does the database need to be unzipped as well? I'll give your ideas a go.

The way the Sox are going, it doesn't seem to matter who is pitching or batting or fielding or running . . . well, you get the idea.

Thanks again for your help. I was able to set up a season last night which I may turn into a dynasty. One more question, how do I turn off the coaches and financials? Sorry for all these questions, but I'm so used to 6.12 and 6.5.

Thanks again.

P.S. Another fine performance by Buehrle wasted last night.

Just to bump this because I'm having a similar problem. I downloaded Arod23Garlon2006DB Version 2 and unzipped it into a folder. I point OOTP 2007 to the master.csv file, but halfway through uploading the database ingame, it says "The loading of the historical league failed. Please make sure the year is between 1901 and 2006, and the path to the database is correct."

Any ideas?
