Scout Nation can only be done when idle
I only have an option to scout a nation when it's selected as the idle task. There seems to be no way to force a scout to go abroad.

I think this is WID, but it might need to be changed.
I have 2 scouts that I never assign tasks to (aside from quick-scouting) so that I always have a scout in Venezuela and the DR. ![]() |

Yes, I believe that that is how it works, does it not? Have you played for extended periods of time with scouts set to scout nations as an idle task and seen no evidence of their activity?

It works best if you put a non head-scout on this idle task. If you set the head scout to scout a nation when idle, you get very little back as most of the scouting reports you deal with from him are to do with issues with players in your organisation - it's as if the head scout has a hidden list of jobs that get done first.

I think a sweet scouting interface would involve being able to plot an intinerary on a calendar for each scout. Would help line up scouting trips to other countries.

As for redsoxford's initial question, are you not able to scout countries from 'Explore World' under the Manager menu? I have lots of scouts around the world, done through this menu, and haven't used the scout tasklist/idle tasks at all (my game still seems to crash on the scout tasklist screen, but that's for another thread). |
