American League HAS NO PITCHER AVAILABLE!

The title is the error message that I keep getting when trying to sim out a fictional league. My original intention was to use the "Fictional MLB 2007 Quick Start" from bp_ and then sim out 10 years to give the league some history...then jump in as manager and work my way up.

But I keep getting this error message whenever I sim...actually, the error comes with three seperate messages:

1st error: American League HAS NO PITCHER AVAILABLE!
2nd error: GAME:: no starter substitute found!
3rd error: No starting pitcher found

I then hit "OK" ad nauseum until I eventually just have to "end task".

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? For what it's worth, I made sure to fill rosters with fictional players and I enabled ghost players.

Is this happening in July? I'm wondering if this refers to an All Star Game that's waiting to be played.

That was my first thought as well...but the crash keeps happening in June, usually towards the back half of the month.

Okay, back half of the month. Are you using a 'stock' schedule, or did you hit the 'generate schedule' button while you were creating your league? The reason I ask is that 'generated' schedules run shorter than most 'came-with-the-game' schedules. Combine that with 'generated' schedules often sticking the All Star Game in at the halfway point, instead of a week after the midpoint in a 'stock' schedule, and we may still be looking at a phantom All Star Game.

I say phantom because what you described above is often associated with ASGs that were scheduled at one time, but later taken off the schedule (usually because the league associated with it was deleted, but sometimes for other reasons). For some reason, some tag for the game sometimes remains behind long after the game itself has ceased to exist.

You make it sound as though it's not always the same day. Does the day move with different year starting points (2007 vs. 2008)? Do you always start from the same template? The same quickstart? The same saved game?

Hopefully, someone with more expertise than I will check into this soon.
