I purchased OOTPB '07, but haven't downloaded any patches yet.
When I start the program, the clock whirls around about 10 times, then stops. The program stalls...finally, I get an error message saying: "MYFACEGEN::loadmodel-Error during loadModel()..." etc., etc. Then it finally starts up... What's this symptom indicative of, and what's the fix? Thanks for any feedback! |

Have you ever gotten the game to work before without this message? Does FaceGen work for you?
What operating system do you have? What is your processor speed, hard drive space (total and remaining unused), RAM, and video card? |

I got the game to work earlier without this message, but only in the very early throes of setting up an experimental league. Not sure exactly about FaceGen in this context (but cops use it to create a composite face, I know).
My system specs: W2K, SP 4 2.083 GHz processor speed 523 KB RAM 224 GB Total HD space 60 GB Free HD space Trident 9685 video card |

Trident, huh? I don't know about that exact card, but this list indicates trouble with another card of theirs:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=142102 Are you using the latest video card drivers? Try disabling FaceGen from the game under Game Preferences from the opening screen and see if the message stops. |

I disabled the FaceGen, and that did the trick--program starts up OK with no
FaceGen error message and loading delays. But I apparently have the latest drivers for my video card... Can you recommend a good video card that's also affordable (i.e., under $100)? I'd still like to enable FaceGen, ultimately. Thanks. |

Don't jump out and get a new card yet. Under Game Preferences, reenable FaceGen and try running the game after switching FaceGen Mode to both troubleshooting modes. One or the other might do the trick.

I re-checked FaceGen and checked Troubleshooting modes. When I started
up again, I got the original "delay of game" and the original FaceGen error message.... |

Oh, you didn't install any of the patches, right? Update your copy to version 2.0.3.68, and try on all three modes again.

Nutlaw, I did update, and that did the trick--starts up normal, with FaceGen enabled.
Though next year I will probably upgrade the video card--too many Internet observations on that Trident 9685 being a dinosaur, by now. Thanks for your help--you have a great OBP! |

I'm glad that everything worked out.
I have a great on-base percentage? ![]() ![]() |
