Injury at end of game causes mass chaos
So I've been playing the demo probably going to buy (great job including all features in demo this time, that always kept me from buying before) but was thrown off a bit by what happened my last game.
I'm playing the 1961 Angels and Tex Clevenger was injured on the last play of a 10 innning PBP game against the Red Sox. That last play was an RBI single that ended the game so I lost 3-2. So I'm screwing around trying to find how to put him on the DL and I notice the box score doesn't say we lost 3-2 but 12-4 and everything about the game has changed. The game was originally started by Dean Chance but the Box Score says it was started by Ken McBride. Three other pitchers pitched according to the Box Score that didn't pitch during the actual game. Clevenger doesn't show up on the Box Score and it says McBride was injured in the game. So now I have two pitchers injured, one in a real game and one in a game that never really happened. Things got weird when Clevenger got injured because it wanted me to put a sub in for him even though the game was over. I managed to leave the game after putting another pitcher in his spot and then noticed this. BTW, this is the demo for OOTP8 |

Does the Box Score match the Game Log, or do the two differ? Do the Box Scores for the other games that day look to be correct as far as you can determine?

Okay, so if I look at the day to day schedule page (the ball at the bottom), it shows the right score and the box score and game log are correct.
But if I go to my team home page, there is an article about a nonexistent 5 hit performance by Vic Wertz in the fictitious 12-4 game. And if you hit the schedule link from the team home page (the month at a glance schedule) It shows us losing the game 12-4 and links to the bogus box score. |

Could the box score be from the previous season? You mentioned that an injury occured during this imaginary game and has become real in your league? Did any of the stats from that imaginary game get added to any of your players?

Stats for both games seem to be accrued. Both players are still injured. And some players have two entries in the game log for that day, both the 3-2 fictitious and 12-4 imaginary game. This is first season I've played so no box scores from last year.

maybe the schedule is messed up and you did play 2 games that day but only noticed 1?
just a wild guess.

Yeah, good call. Could you have had a double header in your schedule? I've seen a few out there. Did both games count toward your team's record?
I know that doubleheaders don't both display on some schedule screens. Last edited by Nutlaw; 12-13-2007 at 06:40 PM. |

That looks to be it. Good call. See the other game buried deep at the bottom of the page. Apparently they snuck another one in there at the bottom of another page. At least we won that one. Would be nice if these games were placed together on the schedule page or there was something denoting a doubleheader that made it obvious.

Yeah, it's not the best design. I know that it is being discussed.
Well, I'm glad that it was a lack of clarity rather than a phantom game. As the situation seems to be explained, I'll close out this thread. |
