Cant Download

I first tried downloading on my newer computer, but after 2 attempts it only copied about 10MB and 16MB of the file. I got an error that said "Active integrity check failed. The setup file is not complete, possibly due to an incomplete download or corrupted file." I then tried on my other computer and it downloaded 84MB of info, but again when I try to run it I get the same error. Also, when I tried to save to CD I got "The file 'ootp9setup' has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying"

I am only on dial up and these arent the fastest, most modern computers. I am also not the most computer literate person in the world, so I need things easy and simple.

Anyone know what to do?

This is a great compuer game and I have enjoyed playing. I did get the old ootp to work last year. I didnt have trouble at all.

Thanks in advance for help.

Cash, since you're on dial-up, you're bound to have problems, especially with so many people downloading right now. I suggest you consider getting a download manager tool (for free), like this one.

Next, delete any copies you have already downloaded, because they are partial and not helping matters. (It wouldn't hurt to clear out your Temporary Internet Files, too.)

Then go to this thread, and try to download it again from one of the mirror sites. The file is close to 200MB, so in your case it's going to take a long time. You might even have better luck running the download overnight or something like that.

Let us know if this helps!

At 200 MB there is no way to do this on dial up. Thats at best 10 hours and I am sure something will go wrong. I think that I have 2 options.

1. Get a friend with a fast connection to download and put on CD, then transfer it onto my computer that way. He turns license off and I log on and turn mine on.

2. Just buy the CD from you guys for $10, if I can adjust my purchase order at this point to do so.

If you use a download manager you can stop and resume your download at anytime... although that won't help you get it any quicker. So if you're patient you could probably download it. Otherwise I'd find a friend to download it and burn it for you, save yourself the $10 and get it much quicker (than waiting for the mail).

There's nothing wrong or illegal with having a friend stick it on a CD for you. He wouldn't need the license to do that. You can share the game to your heart's content. You just can't LICENSE it to your heart's content.

I agree that's probably your best bet. I mean, it's literally just download, burn, hand over.
