Take that to tech support ASAP. We had people butcher entire pitching staffs during games to try to eradicate this.

I'd just be curious to know if these were imported leagues. I tried so hard to replicate but couldn't I was sure it must of been a corruption in league files. I know in the one I had the problem, when I imported from 2007 to 8, the problem imported as well. But when I tried to replicate it using new leagues and injuring pitcher after pitcher after pitcher, I couldn't get it to crash once.

I literally got every single member of a teams pitching staff injured to try to recreate it and threw in a few batters for good measure.

Be as specific as possible on the circumstances to try to help us out.

Oh, I can tell you the specific circumstances. Whenever your pitcher gets injured, it takes you to the sub screen. While there you can happily click on players and look at their profile, you can happily click on the other teams tab, and you can even happily click back to the broadcast page where it will do its litlle blink letting you know your lineup is illegal.

But, as soon as you drag that pitcher down into that little pitcher box, BLAM. Crash city. EVERY TIME. No matter the inning, outs, anything. It crashes EVERY time. It will even let you drag the pitcher down into the batting order's ninth slot (or any other slot you wish to put him in). But, as soon as click "P" on the drop down positional menu, BLAM. Crash city.

This happened in my league in OOTP2007. I purchased OOTP8 and imported it there, and SAME THING. Crash city.

I then started new leagues, upped injury ratings on ALL pitchers to 250, upped injury frequency to the highest level, and proceeded to injur every pitcher I could.

I made new leagues, I used quick starts, I used historical. Nothing. I must've injured 100 pitchers and could NOT reproduce it again.

That's why I speculate its some sort of corruption in the league file.

yeah, it can't be an automatic every time kind of thing because I started a brand new historical league in 9 last night and in my very first game, in the 3rd inning, my SP got injured. I replaced him with a reliever and finished the game.

It has to be something with importing.

Well, I thought it was. As stated above, I can't reproduce it anymore. For me, it was just that one 2007 league. And the crash problem imported with it to OOTP8.

But, ever since, I've tried reproducing it and can't. I even duplicated the original league it happened in (teams, league setup, etc.) and couldn't reproduce it.

This is why I believed it to be a corruption in the league file instead of a bug. That is also why I asked the two original posters if the league they saw this in was imported from a previous version. If they were, then I think that would indicate that it is indeed a corruption in the league files rather than a bug.

However, if those two original posters saw this in a brand new league started in OOTP9, then I guess this isn't fixed yet.

The crash happen to me yesterday with my historical league freshly start with this version. Not a big deal since I saved after each game, but the bug is always there. It was corrected with the last patch of OOTP 2007, I'm sure that it will be fast to find the problem since it's probably the same than with 2007.

Wow... every member of the beta team was unable to reproduce this during beta. We'll look into it again, but it seems to be a system-specific issue, and these are very hard to pin down.

Well, I don't know about system specific, it's even league specific.

I had the problem on this very computer. The problem even transferred from OOTP 2007 to OOTP8. Yet on this very same computer, (I haven't changed any hardware, drivers, settings, nothing), I simply CANNOT reproduce it. I've tried and tried and tried. I have probably set up 5 or 6 different leagues and injured 100's of pitchers, but I can't get it to do it on this very same system.

We have lots of power outages in the area I live in, and I've been wondering if that may be a cause, where it somehow corrupts a league. So, in a couple of my attempts to reproduce it, I intentionally pulled the plug in the middle of games. Still, I can't get it to do it again on this very same system. It's befuddling to me, and I'm no developer. It must be VERY difficult for someone like yourself to figure out. Good luck. I hope you nip it in the bud. That issue makes the game unplayable for people who play out all of their games, as their team will never have to deal with pitcher's injured.

EDIT: If those experiencing this bug sent their league files to others NOT experiencing it to try on their systems and they saw it too, wouldn't that be an indicator of a league problem?

Didn't think of that at all and I play all my game. If my game crash again (maybe it was just a one time crash) I will have to edit some injury myself, since an invicible pitcher squad give me an unjust advantage against the computer.

Just happen again this afternoon. End of the third inning, pitcher injured on the last play. The game crash just after I've place McGinn as the curent pitcher slot, the other time I've tried to make the change in the line up part with the same result.

The file is very big (108 meg), I'm at my home so no high speed connection. So it's impossible for me to send a file that big. I'm sure that you don't need everything. Just tell me what you need and I will send it to you.

I will came back later tonight, so just send me PM with the info.

You are absolutely correct,it was an imported league. Its realy unfortunate too because I was really happy with the league.I guess I'll finish out the season and then start a brand new one with OOTP 9.
