Crashes when trying to simulate spring training
1st OOTP I have owned that experiences a major glitch so soon...not a good first impression. This was an OTTP 8 league I imported right after the 1930 season. Everything worked fine for post-season awards, player trades, etc. Simulated just fine up to start of spring training. But the game crashes some time near the end of ST--every time.
I have not added any teams, moved any teams or anything else that might screw up a league without regenerating the schedule.

could you look back in the OOTP8 version and verify that spring training was on?

Crashes around April 6th or so
Yes, spring training is turned on in OOTP8. Why? What could that mean?

Before the crash, make sure that all teams have the correct number of players on the major league active roster.

Spring training crash

I would think that if a team had an invalid number of players, it would have crashed earlier than 4/6, which is near the end of spring training. All rosters are at 40 men right now. It is maddening to be sure. ![]()

Could you make a copy of your .lg file at this stable point, then, and try simming forward to see if it always crashes at the exact same point?

Crashes at end of spring training

What I might do is use OTTP8 to move to opening day of this season, then import the league to see if it works. If it doesn't, I have two options: 1. Start my fictional league over AGAIN or 2. Chalk up OTTP9 as a waste of money and go back to OTTP8, which has never given me any problems.

Moving forward with OOTP8 worked
I did what I said I would, using OOTP8 to move up to opening day, then importing the league again in OTTP9. Seemed to work, as I am now in mid-September and all seems to be working fine. I have been able to simulate huge chunks of games, as well as play one live now and then. Nice to have sound again.
