DB Import problem
I started my historical league in 1960. I am in 1966. I just looked at Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews stats and noticed a strange problem. Since when did Atlanta have a major league team before 1960

Not sure why it's showing ATL because until 1965 it should have been ML1 as they were the Milwaukee Braves.
Is this behaviour occurring for all Braves players up until 1960? Are you using the Lahman database and are you using real or neutralised stats?

I started a new league in 1960. using real stats and the in game DB. I cheked the Braves in 1960 and the historical stats are correct showing ML1 for all of Aarons and Mathews stats. I checked again after the Braves moved to Atlanta and in 1966 all the stats before 1960 changed to ATL. So it seems when the team changed to ATL all the prior stats before I started the league change. If you tell me how to send you the League file I will send it if it helps

When creating the league, did you use the option to import full history?

No but when I create the game in 1960 Aarons stats show him with Milwakuee from his rookie year till 1960 it only made the change after the 1965 seaon when Milwaukee moved to Atl. I am now including Aaron and Mathews from a historical league started in 1960 and not importing full history. As you will see both their stats are correct back to their first year. As you can see the change takes place after the 1965 season going onto 1966

Since you did not import the complete history the game is using the Braves franchise ID which is ATL rather than the Team/Year ID which is ML1 for the players years previous to your inaugural year. The dash year in Mathews record is because that year he played for the Boston Braves.
If you import complete history this will not happen but that can take hours during game setup so you might just want to live with it. Your choice. |

OK, so why does it show ML1 prior to 1960 when I first import and when it gets to 1966 it then changes to ATL before 1960. Does the game just decide to change it. That does not make sense.

How the machine applies the franchiseID/teamID rules the machine uses in this instance is not publicly traded information.
I (or you) could guess but that is all it would be. |
