Face.dat crash

I'm about 20 seasons into a fictional league and have had 8 or 9 crashes where the face.dat file becomes corrupt during a save.

I know we can just delete the corrupted file and the game will regenerate it, along with all the faces again, but no crash would be preferable

It sure would. You're using 9.1.6? Is there a particular point in the season wherein the game tends to crash and corrupt your file?

I am using the latest version. I have the league set to save once a year, so the crashes usually happen on jan 1 during the auto save.

One thing though. After I posted here, I remembered I was using some extra facial hair mods. So I went back to the default ones to see if it stops crashing.

I know this problem has been posted by others, so I'd be curious to hear if those people were using some kind of facial hair mod as well.

Did that help?

Out of interest, what is the size of faces.dat when you suffer one of these crashes? If it's more than 0 bytes could you upload it to the FTP site using the instructions in the sticky thread about FTPing files to us, because it may give Markus an insight into where it is crashing during saving.

So far so good with the default beards. No crashes so far. The face.dat file after a crash would always so zero bytes btw.

Okay, I'll close this thread out for now, then. If you need any further assistance, please post in Tech Support. Thanks.
