Saved Games Disappeared

Just updated with new patch 9.2.

All my leagues in my 'saved games' folder have disappeared.

So they are just gone then?

Obviously I didn't do something right.

Physically gone in your Saved Games folder, or gone in the Load Game section of the opening screen options?

Physically gone. Only thing there was default.lg

Gone in the load games. So I checked the actual folder, which was empty except for the default.lg

2 Online leagues diappeared.
2 Solo leagues disappeared.

Used pc search feature, nowhere to be found. So they are gone.

Online leagues are recoverable.

The one time I don't back everything up before I convert / patch...

I don't even have an initial thought, as the install doesn't remove any existing folders. Even when you uninstall the game, that folder - like many - remains untouched. As of this moment, I'm as baffled as you are. I'll do a little looking around, but let's give the others some time to reply as well. Thanks for you patience. Sorry you're having to go through this, but hopefully we can find out what's going on.

Could you maybe walk through just what you did when upgrading?

endgame is right, the setup doesn't delete any files in the saved_games folder.
Did you probably install the patch to a different folder?
Please let Windows search for "world.dat" on all your hard disk drives.

So, it was just a straight install. And not the patch, but the full version patch.

I know in the past it never deleted folders. This time it really did though. And it duplicated creating everything else in 2 different locations. As in double installed itself, but only one of the installs works as the data path (the original path). One is under 'my docs', the other is under 'C:/Program Files'. The 'my docs' one is the working version...

I know that doesn't really make sense. But it is what it is.

I'm on a networked PC, with an unshared drive. Its too late for me to search for the world.dat as I've recreated my online leagues. And I've still got ootpb2006 and ootp7 installed on my machine so it would just be finding their worlds...

Regardless, I've got my online leagues going again. Starting new solo. Not the end of the world.

Thanks for responding. I can screenshot my windows explorer if you want - so you can see the double creation?

I'm dl'ng the newest 9.22 right now. I'll do everything the same and see what happens this time.
