Demo stops on August 01

I've just been playing the demo and been pretty impressed and looking forward to one post season and seeing some rookies improve (after hearing the demo runs for more than full season) before shelling out my hard earned for this.

However I've now got to August 01 2008 and I can't progress past this date.

I read about this issue in this thread http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ish-day-2.html however it said it was fixed.

But I'm running version 9.2.2 of the demo on windows PC and when I try to progress nothign happens or sometimes the 'demo notification' screen pops up but I still can't progress past August 01.

Pretty keen to buy the full version but am hesitating as not 100% sure I'll be able to get past August 01 2008 in the real game.

If you are playing in a league with some history behind it, such as the MLB Quickstart, then you cannot go past that point. In order to advance to the off-season and partway through a second season, you would need to start a new league without any history in it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is there anything else that we can help you with?

Can you descirbe "history" in more detail? I started the demo with the "new 2008 major league game" from the main menu, should the demo be stopping at August 1 2008?

As mentioned, very keen to purchase the game, but want to be sure when I've purchased it I can progresss past August 1 2008 and use my current save game (save game not critical, but would like it), please confirm.

If your league has historical data before the current season, you can't get beyond August of your first year of play using the demo. The "New 2008 Major League Game" option would fall into that category.

If you purchase the game, you can certainly advance beyond August using your existing saved game and keep playing as long as you would like.

If you would like to try out a full year and a half of in-game play before purchasing the game, you would need to try the "New Custom League" option.

Does that answer your questions?

Great, thanks for response. Glad it's not a bug or anything.

Looks like I'll be getting the credit card out then

As the issue has been solved, this thread will be closed. If you are still finding you can't get past 01/08/2008 let us know and we'll reopen this thread.
