Normalizing eras in historical fictional league?
I'm pretty sure this has been posted somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, so...
We went to start a new custom fictional league of favorite teams from the past 100 years. We did the importing and kicked off a 162 games season, but have noticed that the teams from the 20's-30's dominate. The 1969 Orioles who won 109 games and their dominant pitching staff ends up with ERAs over 6.00 and only wins 65 in OOTP, while some of our slugging sub 0.500 teams from the 30's win 100+ games in OOTP (1929 Phillies, 1930 A's/Cubs). Basically, the sim seem to lean towards reprodicing the hitting stats from our teams, which excessively inflates the pitching stats. We are using OOTP9, btw. Is there way to normalize the stats accross eras to get them "more" reasonable? We would like to find some happy medium. Thanks! Royce |
