Baseball Card Feature...Question

What exactly is the Baseball card function. I'm sure I have an idea but not sure where to view these cards. I see them created every year at the all-start game but don't know how to view them. Any help is appreciated.

if you go to the player page, down at the bottom amongst all the blue action buttons is a button marked pictures or something like that - click on that and in amongst the picture options it will say baseball card, clicking on that will display the baseball card(s) for that player

And if you don't like the cards being created, over in the mods forum there are some custom one to choose from - most with a good explanation as to how to put them in game.

As for where the bb cards are stored, they are all in your saved_games\yoursaved game name\news\html\images folder...for all star games look for files named:tim_lincecum_2013_all-star.png or what ever the player name and year may be and hall of fame:tom_glavine_2013_inducted_to_hall_of_fame.png ...
the year will always be after the player name and the type will always be after the year..

What if we just don't want the baseball cards being created? Any way to disable this feature?

Go to Database Info. There will be an Options (or a button titled something like that) in the lower right hand corner. Click it, and it will open a pop-up box which will allow you to disable them.

These are two templates I've made so far. They are also available on Padresfan's Site.

Another template will be coming out shortly after the next patch. It uses quite a few new features. When I'm done with the 1974 Topps Template, I may write some documentation on how the baseball card system works.

Here's a preview of what the batters are looking like with the 1974 Topps template:

Very good, that brings back memories.

Maybe for added realism, you could replicate the bubble gum stain on the back of every tenth card.

Not sure that I will, but I think I can actually figure out a way to do that.

I was perfectly happy using whatever default design OOTP provided us for baseball cards until I saw these. Incredible work and bringing back tons of great childhood memories. Will be using these in my solo league.

Thanks for sharing.

I found a way to create gum stains on a card every now and then.

Now youngsters can digitally relive the pain of getting that Lance McCullers card with the atrocious stain on the back.

Also, as a bonus for the 1974 Topps set, during 1973 only, the Padres will have the infamous Washington "Nat'l Lea." variant (1973, because by the time the 1974 season started, the baseball world knew that they would stay in San Diego).

I'll probably release the template tomorrow. I finished working on the pitchers cards, now I just need to do minor variants for All Star and Hall Of Fame cards.

If anyone wants an early release, this is an incomplete version that will have no variation for the HOF and All Star. You're welcome to DL if you're somewhat desperate for new cards:
