Is this mostly-historical setup possible?
Is this possible?
1. Setup a historical league starting in 1901, with historical transactions and reserve rosters enabled... Yes, I know this is possible. 2. Use an enhanced database (a Gambo/Spritze that includes add'l players such as minor-leaguers who never reached The Show and negro-leaguers)... So far, so good. 3. Have an independent/unafilliated league of, say, 6 to 8 teams that are filled by the AI signing free agents from #2 above and other free agents such as those who have been released from MLB teams. 4. Eventually change from reserve rosters to a Triple A league, once reserve rosters reach viable levels. 5. In the Triple A league, in addition to having sixteen affiliated teams (one for each MLB team), have maybe two independent/unaffiliated teams whose rosters are filled in the same manner as #3 above. From some limited testing in OOTP v12 it seems that this is not possible because if the independent league/teams are not affiliated with MLB, then the MLB free agents do not appear as available free agents in the indy league, and thus the AI has nobody to sign. And if the indy league/teams are affiliated, the AI won't sign players because historical transactions enabled rules the day. So, with Associations and/or perhaps other v13 improvements, is this possible? Or, if not, might there be any workarounds in either v12 or v13? Thanks in advance. |

I'm assuming that due to a reason that I did not anticipate - the inability to use a tinkered-with database in v13 - this would not be possible.
