automatically import historical player-creation modifiers

I started a random debut league in 1982. I want to use 1982 as my base for the duration of the league. Should I leave the import hisorical player creation modifiers box unchecked? I want to avoid the steroid years

Sure, you can do that. But it's not really the PCM's that would cause an offensive explosion. It's the league totals modifiers. So you may want to turn those off. You could leave the PCM's and the strategy updates, though. That way, for example, pitchers might drop a bit in stamina in the 90's and you'd see specialist relievers emerge. But the only way to know is to test it.
