World Baseball Classic

I see it was requested a while back - http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...l-classic.html

But I was just wondering if someone created a mod or some way of playing with a "National Team" type of baseball. It would be cool if you could set up something similar to the way FIFA sets up the different confederations and the group play aspect to compete for a World Cup type championship. Thanks.

The closest I have ever seen to a WBC mod here was the Global Baseball Alliance from a few years ago. It is still available at OOTPMODS.com under "Fictional Global Alliance Quickstart."

As with any other Quickstart game, you download it, unzip it, and copy the folder into \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\quickstart_games. The description file reads as follows:
Quote:
The Global Baseball Alliance is a league inspired by the World Baseball Classic. 28 teams, each representing a different country around the world, compete each year to see who is the best in the world. Features custom-made logos, jerseys, and a few modest deviations from MLB-style rules (5-game average series length, 26 players per team, etc) to help teams with the challenges associated with travel.
The readme file below has more details.

You will see that this quickstart is from 2007. It was probably made for OOTPB 8 or 9. Normally, you would have to run it through those versions and all the rest since to get it ready for 13. You cannot just call it up in 13 as a normal quickstart game.

But get this: I was able to import it ("IMPORT OOTP12 GAME" on the Start Screen) and it seems to have converted and loaded properly! See the screen prints below.

Now, you may have to tinker with it a bit for all the new features introduced since 2007 and that's only if it doesn't crash the first time you advance the date! But, who knows, it may work . . . Good luck.
