Historical database

Im a noob to the game but consider myself pretty tech-savvy. I can't for the life of me find a historical database. Can anyone point me to a site where I'd be able to find some databases? I am using the latest version 13

The historical DB that the game uses is found in the stats folder in your game folder. It is the source of data for any historical players that are used in the game.

Hope that helps

Yes but only MLB.

There are some other DBs available as mods which have more or different players. You could more info on them in the mods forum.

Download the 2nd file and you will have all players real debut,(Negro Leaguers, ***, Korea, Etc. Over 23,000 players. vs 17,000 from stock 13 DB) or even use one of Spritz DB's from 11. 12 DB won't have rookies from last yr and 11 won't have rookies from 2010 & 11. If it's random debut it's not a big issue. If it's an historical league just change over to the 13 DB after the 2009 season.

The 2012 MLB quickstart from the main screen. start the game. Go to League Menu - League Setup - Release All Players & Schedule a Draft.

Do I have to extract or move any files to certain folders?

What I do is use it from my documents folder, OOTP 11 DL. I don't overwrite the existing DB.
After you get it where you want it. cntrl-c the file
C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\OOTP 11 DL\OOTP 12 Sprirtz-Gambo DB

Then open the game and either under rules, option or historical where the existing database path is at for an existing game hit ctrl-v to paste (mouse won't work)

For a new historical game go to advanced options you will see place to choose database. Navigate to where you saved the dB and select the master.cvs (might be able to still use historical database_odb but I use master and have not had a problem)

thanks again game! What if I wanted to start a league say in 1970 or any other year how do I get it to do that? What do you mean by get it where you want it? Modifying wise or location wise?

My install for OOTP 13 keeps installing at "C:\Program Files\Out of The Park Developments\ OOTP Baseball 13" even though I choose the default recommended settings. Is that normal? So basically I can just put the master.csv file somewhere in the OOTP directory I just have to point to the master.csv file withing the game?

Thanks for all the help. Its been frustrating trying to learn this game but I don't want to give up

I don't overwrite the existing DB, so I keep mine wit the rest of my OOTP downloads. So when you start your 1970 Historical Game, go to advanced options. One of the 1st screens you will see is an option to change the DB. Navigate to your you saved the Spritz dB and choose the master.cvs.

I started a league in 1901 using the spritz db. Simmed to June 1st of 1901, saved it. Then tried to load it and loaded fine but when I hit finish today it gave me some db error then said my database wasn't consistent and tried to rollback transaction and that failed. This happened with my first league as well. I don't know what else to do

Can you post a screenshot of what the database path looks like under historical? I'll post mine in a minute. I am in Game 1 of the 1905 WS.

Try relocating it. It looks like it's not finding it.
Edit: If you over wrote the old DB then it needs to point to the stats folder where the new DB is located. If it is just in the OOTP 13 folder I would relocate it and try it again.

Yes but I have had issues when I type it so I just ctrl-c and crtl-v it.

Thats the correct path, so should I move it to a different location and try it there? Just the master.csv file?

Move the entire folder and make sure the database path reads how it is in my screenshot. You only select the master for a new historical game.
