Stefan Matteau, son of ex-NHL player Stephane Matteau, has been released by the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. It was announce at a press conference today at 1:30pm AT. His father, Stephane, who is an assistant coach with the team will stay with the team for the time being however will step back to take some time to reflect.

How strange. Even if he has a record of being undisciplined on ice as the team says, there must be a lot more to this.

He's been told several times. He's already had a 1-game suspension by the league earlier in the season, which the Armada added their own 1-game suspension to. The club has high values and nobody is better than the team, not event Bouchard, who said it himself. Yes, probably more things in the background than what the President/GM Bouchard wants to talk about.

Il se serait passé quelque chose dans la chambre pour qu'il soit licencié et a même retourner dans l'autobus des partisans au lieu de prendre un avion!

C'est carrément irresponsable pour une équipe d'avoir un joueur "selfish" quand le concept d'équipe est la base de leur règles.

It would have happened something in the room he was dismissed and even back in the bus supporters instead of taking a plane!

It is simply irresponsible for a team to have a player "selfish" when the team concept is the basis of their rules.

Like the GM said: Nobody is higher than the club!

C'est ça! Même en lui offrant un vole de Baie-Comeau tout seul, il ne voulait pas.

That's right! Even offering to book a separate flight from Baie-Comeau, he still didn't want to.

Tonight, the Armada just need to get him and the situation off their minds if they're going to have any chance of coming back in this series.
