The better they do the angrier they become

So i have noticed that all my top performers are either very unhappy or angry at their performance. while the ones that are doing awful have great moods. Has anyone else noticed this as well?

I have noticed their anger. It seems in my case when they stick around for the 2nd season they get happier. However I have noticed If I do not do what they expect to have happen such as not in middle or top of lineup then they get angry. However I have noticed as well in a few cases nothing one can do to satisfy the player or two in my team

Mood swings all around. I wonder though if this is a bug of some sort.

I am trying different tactics to find ways of getting them happier without cheating

I started an MLB QS with the Nationals and my CL Rafael Soriano was unhappy before the season even started. He was the designated closer, which is what he wanted, and had a new three-year contract for $13,000,000 a year. Not sure what he was so mad about. He actually did get happier as the year went on, though.

I do get the sense that this is a bit buggy -- not broken, but buggy. I've seen several players who are "unhappy" or "angry" about their individual performance even though they were performing fine, and then others who were performing abysmally but had "good" and sometimes even "great" morale for performance. Of course, maybe they were just eternal optimists...

"Team performance" morale seems a lot more consistent to me, with guys on teams that are in the basement appropriately having "angry" morale on that front. It's the individual performance morale that seems off to me.

Don't know if the behavior is buggy or not, but I know that it is not new......same thing appeared in OOTP13.....players seem to have very different views on what type of performance upsets them or makes them happy.....

The ones who are " delighted" with their performance, and are 0-10 with a 8.90 ERA concern me the most. My conclusion is that they are nut cases.

I only wish the real Brandon Morrow was performing as well instead of being what appears to be an annually underperforming headcase.

I've noticed a lot of players with surprising reactions to their performance. I hadn't really examined it closely, but I was guessing that it is coded to take a longer view of things.

So some marginal minor leaguer is brought up to the majors and over his first 10 games, he's hitting .360 with four homers. In real life, this guy is totally happy with his performance. But if the code takes into account the past month, the the year as a whole, maybe even further back... then maybe this drowns out his hot ten days.

Just guessing here. But I would think it would be hard to code common sense into this aspect of player mood.

Does all this really make a difference in OOTP? REALLY? Does it?

I remember I recommended an over all team moral rating that could have an impact on how a team performs (Like how a good team on paper performs poorly in real life or how a collection of marginals manage to win).

But I was torched for recommending it.

I would think if a player gets drafted to the majors he would be beyond thrilled especially if its his first trip to the big leagues. The past would mean nothing if you get called up.
As of this moment Fielder is now back from DL and now I have him playing DH instead of Cabrera and I am gonna trade my 3B I been using for his defensive abilities at least that's what I am thinking .... I am wondering if there are ways of making the coach work with certain players to boost their abilities on hitting or fielding ???

BTW I do not have the desire to fudge fielding numbers to cheat in order to make him be a better fielder. Cabrerra has become a very good fielder in real life although the game gives him a 9 out of 20 I would rate him in real life a 12 or 13 or at best 14 for the moment.

I just started a new mlb quickstart and noticed this is becoming a problem where it wasnt in my earlier save. all of my players thru two weeks range from unhappy to angry for individual performance no matter how great their start to the season

Yeah, peripherals are pretty bad, but I doubt any pitcher would get "Angry" over a 2.29 ERA. This seems like it could be a bug.

Some people do not handle success well......

and there's that quote about Earl Weaver that pop's up as something's loading...you know, Earl's not happy unless he's not happy.....

Maybe these are masochists.....

or maybe it's bugged.....
