Getting rid of nicknames...

Anyone know how? I don't want to edit every single player individually. I looked everywhere but couldn't find the option to turn off nicknames. I can't stand their new rookies coming in with stupid nicknames.

Is there a way to turn off all existing nicknames and for the upcoming draft class?

Thanks.

You can start a new game without them, if you delete them all in the file and save it as an empty text file.......but once they are in a game, you cannot get rid of them, except by editing players......it's a big job, but once completed, the yearly maintenance is not much...only a handful of rookies get them.....

You can do this quite easily. Export your rosters and then just delete the nickname field for everyone in excel or oo. Then import.

Quick and easy

Be aware that this will undo all your lineups and rearrange your minor leaguers (unless the AI takes care of your minors).....

Is it still an issue where players with nicknames are more likely to be successful than others?

Urban legend.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

First, go to your Misc directory and edit nicknames.txt to be an empty file.

Second, export your rosters. You can open the export file in Excel, Open Office/Libre Office's Calc (free), or in a .csv file editor.

Third, find the nickname column and delete every nickname.

Fourth, save the file as a .csv file and reimport it. Watch your delimiters.
