Fictional Historical League - Some Questions

If I create a fictional historical league with real life MLB teams but I delete all the real life players and configure the game to use fictional players, how big will the file size become if I start it in 1900 and simulate to the 1970s before taking a team?

Are there any potential pitfalls to running a game like this and trying to keep all transaction, injury history, and box scores?

Is it potentially going to become too unwieldy to load and play the file, and will there be a much higher risk of getting a corrupted file?

I'd like to know all the risks and potential problems before I take this on.

My fictional league has been going for 36 seasons. There are over 50,000 files in the various folders, and I only keep 2 years of logs and box scores. I also don't use the almanac. I don't have a lot of trouble with it, but it does take a little longer to load than my historical leagues that only have a few years in them.

Are you using minors?

Hmm, I plan on keeping all box scores, injury logs, and transaction logs, so that might add up to a considerably larger saved file than yours.

If you are going to keep all that, I would suggest using the Almanac rather than the league to save them. The beauty of the Almanac is, once created you can store it anywhere, it doesn't necessarily have to stay on your main HD. I always used to burn mine to a DVD, but now have an external HD that all my back-ups go on. This will also keep your league file from getting too bloated too quickly.
