What does (V) after a player's salary mean?

Trying to get my head round my team salaries and contracts and one of my players has a (V) after his salary value. What does this mean?

V=vesting option
T=team option
P=player option

What vesting means is that the players has to meet a certain criteria for the next year of his contract to count. For example, you can set it so he has to have so many at bats during the year, for the next year of his contract to count.
