Scenario & Questions

Scenario:
Is this player ready to be in the majors? What would you do with him?

Keep in mind the facts:
  1. This player was just traded in the off-season (Notice the significant drop off in stats in the new AAA farm)
  2. Players expectation the last 2 years: Playing in Majors
  3. Players Morale before trade: Unhappy
  4. Players Morale up until this sim: Normal
  5. Player will expect to be in the Starting Lineup if promoted to Majors
  6. Team will likely not be in contention

Questions:
  1. What are the components you think caused this drop off? Are trades that impactful?
  2. In OOTP 16 how much does Team Chemistry affect this type of Scenario if at all? Is there an adjustment period built in?
  3. Does a players expectation change depending on who else is on the team? i.e. An All-Star Catcher is currently on the team so he would expect to be a bench bat in the majors.

I post as a scenario as I find players thought processes and factor reveals to be more interesting than just a question.

Unless, your other catcher is awesome, with 'How do you say that name?'s defensive ability, I would want him as my starter. If he hits, so much the better.

P.S. I'd check the park factors of the teams to see if that helps explain the stat drop-off.

Thanks, yes the defense is a nice motivator.

I did check parks, he moved to a more hitter friendly one in the trade which is a bummer.

Eye Tep A Ray is how I would say it...but I just call him Triple E.

He would for sure make my club in the majors and unless I had a super star at catcher, your guy will be my starter

Boyle looks ready for prime time to me. He thinks he's ready too and I'd guess his poor current AAA performance is due to the fact that he is unhappy that he is still in the minors.

He definitely should be in the majors. His poor performance after the trade may be random luck, though it might be worthwhile to re-scout him.
