Playing as GM and Manager - Am I overthinking?

So in theory, I understand why there's no "ML Manager" when you play in the format of GM and Manager. Functionally, that means I control all the GM aspects as well as lineups and rotations, because I'm a control freak. But if that's the case, why are there minor league managers? I have full control over setting minor league lineups and rotations - so what does a manager do at each of those levels? Probably helps influence development, lead the dugout, and makes in game decisions, as well as other stuff, right? By that logic, why isn't there a ML Manager? A guy who sits in the dugout and makes the decisions based on my lineups and rotations, in the same fashion as the minor league managers would. A guy who's skin I'd sit in whenever I decide to manage a game. A guy who belongs on my personnel page just as much as an Assistant GM. OR, why are there managers in the minor leagues if I can control all the managerial decisions?

Am I over thinking this? Do my ramblings make sense? What do you guys think?

Your bench coach does these things for your MLB team. IRL minor league managers are frequently directed by the parent club as to lineups, etc. So to me this is very realistic.
