Why I Love This Game So Much.....

Yes, I can not play it until Monday because I have found a bug that only weird, strange players of the game like me would find.

I love this game because it gives me a chance to go back to my youth and my Strato-O-Matic days...

I just appreciate the fact someone took the time and effort to try to make a game like this.

I worked in the CAD software development world for 30+ years, going from PDP to VAX to DOS to Unix to Windows and understand how every release of software has some problems in it. My job for 30+ years was convincing customers we will fix theirs.

No matter how many bugs I find, this game is an awesome game. And like every software package known to man, when it offers new features that we have the audacity to ask for, new ones come along....

I know one example of that is rain outs. We asked for them. We got them. Now the ramifications of that wish are coming out. If I get rained out in April against the Cardinals in a tie game that we resume in September and I have traded away Castro (yeah!), waived my entire bullpen and have picked up Price and Kimbrell how does the game pick up where it left off with Baez now at 2B, Russell now at SS and Schwarber behind the plate?

I just appreciate Markus and his crew for trying...

Thanks OOTP Gang for giving me back some of my younger days... Bugs and all.

While David's concern seems to be legit, I'd be remiss not to point out to those who are unfamiliar with OOTP's 'stalls' that Not Responding for a fair length of time doesn't necessarily mean it's not doing something. It's just taking a long time. Very often we see reports of crashes that aren't that at all. They're simply game stalls with that message that, most of the time, passes if one is patient and waits it out. FWIW

We do want to know about those crashes that generate the OOTP must close message (Microsoft, usually, right?) as those are official CTD issues. But Not Responding is similar to making a request of your spouse. It may take awhile for something to actually happen.

This is Markus and teams BEST work, no doubt about it.

I love this game because I can sign a SP who has a bad season then gets sent to AAA for a whole season and is now pitching lights out for me this year.

I love being the GM and going from a controlling manager, to a manager that lets me take control of the team when I want to.

I love it when I resign a popular player and the fans go nuts.

I could go on and on.... this is no doubt the BEST version of OOTP.
