steam overlay won't leave

I'm posting this here since it won't let me in the tech support forums, but for some reason after a random time the steam overlay pops up and won't leave. This has happened not once, not twice, but 3 times in the last 20 minutes. The only way to undo this is to shut down my computer and reboot it.

All three times it's happened while I'm trying to create a fictional league to do some experimenting in, if that helps. I get partially through creating the game and it happens, and it's getting really frustrating.

Have you contacted Steam? It's very unlikely that OOTPD can help you with a Steam specific problem.

I wasn't sure whether it would be a Steam problem or an OOTP problem since this is the only game I've had this happen to, so I kind of figured "let me post it here. maybe I'm not the only one who's having this problem".

I'm gonna try contacting steam now though. hopefully between the two I can get it fixed. it's definitely irritating -_-

There is a thread about this called "Steam FAQ" under General Discussions. I think it's stickied. The short version is turn off the Steam Overlay (either for OOTP only or for all Steam programs). You may have to go into Steam's "Big Picture" mode to do this.

Look for The Wolf's instructions. I followed them and the overlay has never popped up again.

thanks. followed them, restarted my computer to unlock everything, and it's working now

in case it happens to anyone else, what i have to do when i accidentally press tab, shift is to exit to the desk top and then hover over the icon in the task bar. once the mini window pops up, click it. the steam screen should go away
