One-Pitch or Pitch-by-Pitch Mode?

In general, playing out games is quite fun, with each pitch there's the intense, "edge of your seat" factor, especially in a big game or during the postseason, it really adds more to a sim that is SO deep and immersive already!

So which do you prefer?

Is there a difference in the outcomes with either mode?

I love this game!

I use one-pitch unless there is a base stealing situation. (The game is not very good at handling base stealing on one pitch).

I have also been known to switch to pitch-by-pitch in very exciting moments...

I play one pitch and only make player substitutions for my team, I don't want any advantages over the AI.

Same here for the same reason. Playoffs and such, I switch to pitch by pitch mode but for the most part I play one pitch mode.

This is how I play!......I find when I manage, I can win too easily and I never have players who are not so good at stealing try to steal. So, I set my strategy sliders and give every team in my league the same set of sliders and then just manage substitutions and play in 1-pitch mode.

This is how I play as well (I do jump in now and again to visit mound or prevent my pitcher from bunting) but for totally different reasons... I do it because if I try to manage everything, I feel that I lose games by over managing...

I do One Pitch almost all the time, like others have said I occasionally do PbP for important/tense situations, more to drag out the tension than to get any kind of advantage. I usually PbP the 9th in close games, for instance.

To be honest, a lot of the time in the first few innings I just sim by half-inning. I stop doing that when we get to the pitching changes (so around the 6th unless things have gone horribly wrong) because I like to choose the pinch hitters and such.

I also turn warmups off, because I constantly forget, and it's not very realistic to throw a guy on the mound cold because you 'forgot' to tell him to warm up.

Me too.

I technically do PbP but I often sim until runners are in scoring position too... although I'm regularly horrified how poorly things can go without a runner ever getting into scoring position on my pitcher... multiple 2 run HRs

Pitch by pitch all the way. Unless I'm losing 10-0 in the second . Then its 2 innings at a time to get the heck onto the next day.

You know you can play pitch-by-pitch but hitting the space bar will do one-pitch mode for the AB, right? That's how I play.

One pitch when my team is at bat, sim the half inning for the other team until around the seventh when I do one pitch for both. Sometimes when I'm protecting a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth the tension gets to me and I just sim that half inning.
