Editing players in fictional league...
I'm curious.
In a fictional (custom) league, I've tried to insert certain types of historical figures; such as Babe Ruth. For example, I go into the Amateur Draft, chose a right fielder from the pool, and edit his numbers to Babe Ruth's 162 game career average - then save it as his potential rating. No matter how many times I've tried it across many years or different players, within a year or two the players ratings will return to what they were before I edited them. In effect, I can't insert a historical-"like" player into a fictional league. Any thoughts?

but... there are settings that cause this to happen i believe? i'd review related historcal settings. league settings - historical most likely re-calc is on. miscellaneous thought: if you insert him as a kid, his career numbers are likely, but not garaunteed, to be below his actual "potential." age can be a significant factor among other things. if you have development on and insert him younger than age 27/28 (whenever that portion of development ends - refer to manual), his potential will likely rise with good results and without a low work ethic/intelligence, etc until he reaches that cut off age for the development engine... after that it's tcr and age related. which is something else to consider and maybe test. |

The only setup questions I can think your referring to are those in the first attachment - which don't seem to be related to my problem...
The second attachment shows the area I tried to input the players 162 game stats - then pressed "Create potential ratings based on stats". The rating numbers above this section did change - but instead of staying there, they returned to their original values after a series of scouting reports.

Apparently, "Player Recalc Ratings" is only available in historical leagues? That would explain why I can't find the option in my fictional league. If that's true, then the only option I have to insert a Babe Ruth type character in my fictional league is to import his 162 game average stats and set his current values to those numbers - no way to put the stats in as "potential" and watch him grow.

Why not just import the real Babe Ruth into your league? Pick the age you want him to come in at and import.
You can always edit his name if you want to change that. |

i edit a lot of players and have yet to see players regress to pre edited values even after several seasons. Even the players that I only edit once for potential very few have regressed to very poor players after a few seasons.
I will test this out and see what Ruth does in a test league what year did you start with? I like your sig. Never knew that was said before. Ruth hit 99 HR in my ABF league, neutralized stats. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3867764
