Random debut setup

I feel really stupid asking this since I have run these in previous versions, but I tried to set one up for 16 and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I set up the historical league and had an inaugural draft where the RD feature worked fine, but when I got to the draft now it's just a bunch of fictional players.

Should I be using Automatically import Historical Rookies? I had this turned off originally and use random rookies from all eras checked, but this resulted in fictional draft players. Is there something else I'm missing here?

That has happened to me on a game I just set up. I wonder if they will appear in the next season?

Let me ask this, did you uncheck the box for automatically import historical rookies during your trip through the historical setup wizard? If so, then that's your problem. I play tons of random debut, but I know I've never fooled with the import historical rookies box, so if it's checked on by default, it needs to be checked on to get real players. Hope that makes sense. I'm at work, so can't see my game.

Yeah David I must have done that - I guess I'm remembering that box from before RD when it would bring all the rookies into their proper teams, and maybe I thought it was one or the other with that and the RD checkbox.
