Question About Fictional Team Logos

I wonder if any of our artistic friends have designed professional looking team logos (and color sets) that can be imported into the game?

Sometimes when we get league expansions, or we start fictional leagues, the new team logos are nothing more than generic-looking ball diamonds with a single letter.

What I am thinking of is if someone had the ability and/or the inclination, they could design 20 or 30 logos based on generic mascot names (ie. "Bandits," "Sharks," "Crusaders," etc.), that can be imported and used for fictional teams that are added via league expansions and such. I don't think there would be any licensing issues because these would be fictional logos for fictional teams.

Perhaps there is already something like this and I am not aware of it. But cool looking logos would be better than generic letters superimposed over a circle or diamond.

Check out the Nickname Project over in the Mods section. It's exactly what you're looking for

Yes, the nickname project rocks. Logos and uniforms galore.

Current version will already automatically provide logos etc if the nickname project is installed (this was a feature in last year's release if I remember correctly). I'd love for this to go one step further, so that the game won't create a team name that DOESN'T match the nickname project. I can dream, can't I?

You can edit your team_nick_names.txt file within the OOTP database folder.

Questions about the Nickname Project.

Will the fictional logos work as expansion teams if you are using the licensed MLB logos in a league?

Are there enough fictional logos to use as minor league logos of an expansion team?

Can I ask some graphic artists to create some logos for "Fictional Baseball League"? This is one of the most favourite names for the league, and OOTP doesn't have beautiful logos for FBL in default

I definitely think OOTP should have some default logos for the FBL, since it's the default league name.

Justafan's logos don't work properly with OOTP 16/17 but Cephasjames' logos do.
