Why isn't this a real spring schedule??

I've been simming some of my spring training schedule and playing some too and I just figured out that there is no interleague play in spring training and the teams don't play JUST the teams in their own area (Cactus / Grapefruit). Why and how did this happen?? This is completely unrealistic!! Is there something I should've done to make it realistic spring training?? Did I miss something??

As a side question, why are there leaguewide offdays scheduled in spring training?

OOTP does not use real-life spring training schedules (modified or otherwise). There is no dedicated spring training schedule file like there is for the regular season. Nor do is there a location field in the schedule files so a specific host city/stadium can be specified.

If you want to see these things, gather up like-minded people and begin pushing for the addition of such a feature.

Considering I've got copies of real-life spring training schedules going back to the 1950s, historical leagues could have the actual schedules (or at the very least modified versions of the real schedules, if split-squad and games against minor league teams need to be removed for OOTP purposes).

OOTP-generated schedules, presumably.

simplicity of schedule creation... my best guess. it doesn't really do much, so not much was put into it.

general response to thread:

it's just spring training! (read that in a light-hearted way)

the ST schedule format has virtually no impact on the game in any tangible way. (referencing the schedule only)

I'm just happy it's not 33 degrees in New York anymore.

I would want this adjusted as well.

For now, I just modify the schedule in the in-game editor to make it realistic.
