Can I import games from OOTP 14 into OOTP17?

I've started a season in my old version, OOTP14, and decided to buy the upgrade to OOTP17. Is it possible to import the OOTP14 season played so far so that I can continue playing it in OOTP17?

Thanks!

Yes it is. But if I'm right in my thinking, you'll have to import them via 15 and 16. If you don't own them you can download the demo's for the purpose of importing.

Yep, download the 15 and 16 demo, import your league in each version 15 first then 16 and there you go. The nice thing about it is, they are just demos. You should back up your league first in 14 to be safe.

Thanks for your advice

Thanks, guys, for your advice. Now that I look further I also see that mentioned on the official OOTP17 page about uploading older seasons going thru OOTP15 and OOTP16 demos to bring OOTP14 games up into OOTP17. Sorry to be so stupid here, but I'm not finding these demo links anywhere -- any tips on where I can find them?

Thanks for you help,

Not sure if you've moved on or not but you can see the demos at the bottom of this page:

Download Out of the Park Baseball for PC, Mac or Linux today

Look under "Demos and Prior Versions"

Uploaded versions season 14>15>16>17 but only 14 plays

Thanks for the links ihatenames, and for your advice, Doc!

I successfully used the links to load the demo versions of 15 and 16 to help me move my 14 season-in-progress to 17. But, it will not let me play. V17 keeps crashing when I click to "Resume Game", and so I went back to my newly-uploaded demo version 15 to see if my first upload (14>15) worked and could be played, and that crashes, too, the moment I click to "Resume Game."

I shut down my computer and rebooted and the same thing happened, can't play 15/16/17, only my original 14 season.

I just went back to my season in progress in 14 to see if it would play and it does.

Does anyone have any ideas why only my original v14 will work? Maybe the demos aren't meant to actually play a saved season, just a sample demo game? (But, I can't get v17 to play anything at all.) If so, is there anything else I need to do to get my 14 season data imported up to v17?

Thanks!

EDIT CORRECTION: I just discovered I am able to successfully play an Exhibition Game in v17, so at least that game program seems to work. So now the problem seems to be trying to figure out how to successfully upload my 2014 season thru the demos to the 2017 full version.

Tried again -- program still crashing

I tried again pulling my v14 season in progress up thru the demo versions of 15 and 16 to play in my newly-purchased v17. Trying to continue my saved season in 15/16/17 results in an immediate crash when I try to "Resume Game" using any of those seasons (15/16/17). An error box pops up that the "Program has stopped working -- this has been reported to Windows." And that's it. Program shuts down.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or how to fix this?

This all takes place on my 3 year-old HP Envy 64-bit pc using WIN 10.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Mike

Best thing to do, unless someone offers an idea that works is this Submit a ticket - Powered by Kayako Help Desk Software

Not sure how long it will take for someone to get back to you, but I'm sure they'll get to you as quickly as they can so you can carry on your game.

EDITED UPDATE: I'm just going to start my replay season over with OOTP17. The team I was managing in OOTP14 wasn't doing so well, anyway. I'll put 14/15/16 to bed and just re-start with 17. Thanks for your suggestions and support!

Clarify something for me. There is no "resume game" involved in importing leagues from previous versions. The import function takes the world.dat file and creates a "my league.lg" folder in the saved games folder of each version you import it into. It appears as a loaded game ready to play on the same date as the original file. To get to v17 you should have imported the world.dat 3 times from v14 to v15 to v16 and finally to v17.
