Manager creating unwanted lineups

Is there any way around this? I’m GM and I’m letting my manager set lineupsand rotations. He is continually playingOF Ramon Flores at 1b rather than 1b Chris Carter. I know I can manually do rosters but what ifI want the manager to make that call and I disagree.

if you don't want to set them yourself, then you have to live with it.

alternative methods:
you could edit one of the players so that it's not a viable option to play him at the unwanted position.

in player strategy settings, you can force start a player at a position

Strategy settings and use "FORCE START" for the position you want players to play.

Pretty much, although I personally feel that manager preferences have too much emphasis to where I've seen them bench an all star for a scrub just because the Allstar didn't fit the manager's profile.

I've consistently argued against the manager profile being too rigid. It just doesn't make sense logically or in a business sense. No real life manager candidate is going to go into a job interview and tell a GM, "get rid of all your power hitters and get me slash and dash hitters, or I'm not your guy". Good luck ever getting a job. Also consider that Baseball is turning into a cooperative management situation where veteran managers are buying into an organizational philosophy and are acting more like mentors while baseball operations feeds players to them. Obviously senior managers have a voice in player acquisition but their role is to take the players given to them and to adapt their personal tendencies to the roster they've been given.

That's why we see the issue above. It's being driven from the wrong direction.

Time to channel your inner Billy Beane. You can't start Flores at first........

To be more serious on this, there's an option in the game settings (NOT LEAGUE SETUP!) for GMs to control managers' lineups.

See this is what I don't understand. What's the difference between force start and setting the lineups yourself? If your manager doesn't allow you to set lineups, can you still just force start a player anyway? If so, then what exactly is the point of allowing managers restrictions on what you can do as a GM?
