Can't advance game

"Could not initialize game or game was postponed." Just got my first fictional season ready and now I can't play out my first game. Not sure what to do here. Playing on Mac. I've installed most recent patch (as of 6/20/16). If I click play game, I get the error message above in quotes.

when i see this it's because someone isn't on the 40-man but somehow is on the active roster. look into your team first, then if necessary look over the functions availbe to run AI on teams in League Settings.

this isn't a bug, so if you need more follow-up help it's probably better to ask in another forum. most traffic in the general one i'd guess.
