Just purchased ootp17 on steam, cannot start a game
Hi all,
Just purchased ootp17 after not playing since 6.5, if I remember correctly. I am running it on a Macbook air, OS X Yosemite. Anyway, as the title says, I cannot start a game. When I go to begin a standard game, when the database is initializing (I get to about 60% clearing templates cache), I get the following error messages: 1) TEMPLATES_ENGINE::load_template_file - cannot open template file boxscores_page.tpl 2) load_templates() - could not load template boxscores_page.tpl 3) TEXT_ENGINE:: my_load_text_file() - Folder doesn't exist After I click OK on the last error message, the game just completely shuts down. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling through steam a few times with no success. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for any help/replies. I have the exact same issue. Did you ever get it figured out?

Sorry for the delay in reply.
The most common case is that you are installing to an area where you do not have proper permissions. Missing templates and text is usually the case where when you install and we go to unpack items, we cannot unpack the templates and text properly. Please ensure that you have full permissions and enough available disk space when installing and running the game. |

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have worked - I have full permissions on (I'm running El Capitan, not Yosemite - apologies for not mentioning that), and yet it's still returning that error message. I also have 40 GB disk space still available. When I first downloaded the game, I had too little memory for it to fully download, but I have since cleared up a ton of space and redownloaded/reinstalled the game multiple times, so I don't think that is the issue either. I don't know if there's another issue at hand or if there's another issue at my computer's end that I'm not aware of, but it doesn't seem to be either of those. |

Please try to force a re-install of the data files (this cannot be done with the Steam client tools, unfortunately):
