Pitcher Substitutions
One major issue when playing a game is warming up the pitcher. I recently warmed up a pitcher who was to enter in the next inning, but I was worried that he would tire while warming up, or go cold if I sat him, so I put him in before batting in the next inning. I was trailing by four runs, I scored six! The pitcher that was replaced should have been awarded the win as he recorded the last out of the inning prior, however, the pitcher I put in got credit for the win, he should have gotten a hold (I guess this is a bug). So this brings me to a question, how can I make a statistical change awarding the win to the proper pitcher and a hold to the pitcher who entered the game? I have tried to not do this as I have recognized this bug, but I did not want the pitcher to go cold or tire.

Why
Are my questions insignificant and my concerns unconcerning?
I would have liked a response. Ewan |

Think of it this way.
Who was the active pitcher when the go-ahead run reached base? |

Unfortunately, this is a case we don't handle very well at the moment.
In the future, I would suggest not worrying as much about your pitchers tiring. On the occasion that you have an exceedingly long inning, you might want to sit a guy down for part of it, but otherwise, it shouldn't make a difference. Also, just because a pitcher just moves to be listed as "tiring", it doesn't mean it's actually had any effect. Pitchers will only really show effects from "over-warming up" if they stay in the bullpen tired for a few batters. If you intend to bring the pitcher in at the start of the next inning, I'll say that 99 times out of 100, if you start warming him up during your inning, he'll be warm and not showing any signs of tiredness when he comes in to the game. |
