Draft Issue - Signed Pick Returning to the Draft Following Year
I am using OOTP17 and having a draft issue problem especially with high 1st round draft picks where you draft and sign the player and actually play him in the Majors and the next year, he will return the draft. I will get the additional high draft as though I never signed my previous year's draft pick.
Also, what year did the draft go from December to June? If you start with a modern game, it will always be the first week of June but if you do a historical season and continue to play, it never will revert from December to June in the year it is supposed too. I searched the forums for answers but I am new so I apologize in advance if this has already been reported. Last edited by misterdoctor70; 08-04-2016 at 10:39 AM. Reason: Correction of Text |

I'm not sure the first point - we'd have to see a league file to see what happens there. I've never seen that occur.
The second issue is more how we handle things. As far as I know, the MLB draft has pretty much always been in June. However, the way we did the historical game, where players come in when they first appeared in MLB, having a fully formed player join a team in June would be somewhat imbalanced. Thus, we put the draft after the year so that you can draft and plan for the future. By default, when you get to the modern day, we don't change the draft time. If you wish to move it to June when you are no longer importing historical players, I would simply suggest changing the date in your league settings. |
