Hooked on managing!

Hey folks,
I am trying to clear out some space in my life to take a team next year. I have just tried to cut my teeth on managing by setting up a quick MiLB season and managing the first game. I didnt customize it or set anything to make it realistic, I just wanted to dive in and see how complicated it was. I must say I...am...hooked! But I have questions for all of you that have this down to a science.

1. What is the most realistic settings for managing in the Majors. I want to take an MLB team and I want it as real as possible.

2. Can you give me pros and cons to managing? I am not looking for 50 - 100 things on either argument. Just your opinions here and there on the subject.
