OOTP Crashes Nearly Every Game

Hello! I've been having an ongoing problem in my current league, and it seems to be getting worse. OOTP17 crashes when I'm playing through a game, and it does it often enough that I've started saving every time I win. (I mind less if it crashes when I'm losing. )

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the crashes—they happen in broadcast mode and in 3D, during the action and in between plays, and just about any other time. It also crashes when I'm not playing games, but much more rarely. I've had this problem in OOTP17 before with an earlier league, but it seems to be worse now.

I'm running the game through Steam on a MacBook Air with a 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 and 4 GB of RAM. Version 10.11.13 of OSX. Following a suggestion on an earlier thread, I tried disabling helper threads, but the game kept crashing anyway.

I've uploaded the game files under the name Brooklyn Atlantics. Let me know if you can help. In the meantime, I'll keep saving after every win. I've got a pennant race going here!

Unfortunately I'm not seeing the same issues with your game. If you're seeing that many crashes, it may be a problem with your system more than anything we can control within the game.

You can try re-installing the game to see if that will help. Otherwise I would make sure that all your video drivers are up to date as well as those can potentially cause problems. You could also let us know more specifically about the "crashes" themselves, as there are many ways that crashes can manifest. For example, does the game pop up with a specific error, or does it simply hang and not respond, is it the OS that pops up a message saying the game is being closed, etc... The more details we have, the more likely we can potentially figure out what might be happening.

Thanks for getting back to me! My video drivers appear to be up to date, so unfortunately that's not the problem. This is how the problem generally manifests:

—I replace my pitcher with a pinch hitter
—My half of the inning ends
—The "you have a defensive player missing" message comes up, taking me to the lineup screen
—A split second later, the game quits, taking me back to Steam. It doesn't hang, and there's no error message—it just quits

I'm having the same issue. Half way through a game OOTP 17 crashes.

I've been having the same issue. I verified my graphics drivers are up to date.

For me, the "crash" is that my game just locks up and stops responding. My mouse will change from an arrow to a pointer when I hover over menus but I can't select anything (I click but no response). It's seemingly random. Interestingly, when I launch Task Manager I can see the OOTP process using CPU cycles and its memory usage is changing. So the app is doing something but it's non-responsive to input.

It always happens between plays so tonight I thought maybe it's related to the FaceGen process. I went to the Game Settings and selected the option to generate all player images. That took a while (about 20 mins) but I was then able to play 3 games with no issues.

That's not definitive but I'm hopeful. You might try that.

I re-installed the game and it worked great for a while, but it's again crashing during games.

I downloaded the game again and re-stalled and it still would crash during a game. Any reasons?

Same problem. Can't play 3 games in a row with out the game freezing. Mouse moves but I can't click on anything. Always half way through a play. I can't even shut the program down..have to restart the computer to turn off the program.

I updated my MacOs and it works okay, but can only play 3, maybe 4 games at a time, then the game shuts down. I've downloaded and reinstalled the game several times, it doesn't seem to matter. Anyone else having this issue?

After 2-3 games the game continues to crash. I downloaded and re-stalled several times, yet it still crashes. Is there a fix?

I repeatedly get a message that OOTP17 has stopped. A little window comes up and announces that OOTP17.exe has stopped working. It happens at apparently random times. Sometimes during games, but also often when I'm doing other stuff between games. Windows 10, if that matters. Graphics drivers are up to date. I'm using Version 17.12 Build 75.

Once you do, we'll do all we can to help you resolve the issues, if possible. We want to get the game running as smoothly as possible for all of you.

Honestly it's sometimes very tough to narrow down the causes of random crashes, especially since they're often related to your specific computer and setup, but there are some things I can walk you through that might help.

I disabled all photos and the crash issues almost completely dissapeared
