Backup not working on Mac
I can't back up my OOTP season. I may have deleted an important file when trying to fix another problem. I've tried to reload the latest version of OOTP17, but that did not work. Any suggestions on what to do?

1. You can't backup a league file. Can you say what sort of error message you get and if you had successfully backed up league files before.Screenshots help. 2. You tried to reinstall the latest version of v17. Again if that was not successful what sort of error message do you get? Did you install over your current set up? Screenshots help.

Thank you for offering to help.
I was able to reload OOTP v17. There was no problem there. I am able to access the league files and advance the league as before. The only issue is creating a new backup file for this league. When I attempt to create a new backup OOTP crashes and I get this pop up window. No other error message, just OOTP crashing. I have been able to back this up in the past, but as I said, I must have deleted a some critical file or directory, because I can no longer back it up. Last edited by uvm87; 11-26-2016 at 10:29 AM. |

instead of using the game back-up, have you tried to make a zip file backup? (not sure what it's called or how to do it on Mac). i use that method all the time now and it's great. Once you need to use that zip backup, you just unzip it in the same folder as your .lg file. (of course, the zip file needs to be slightly different name than the original - such as Game A.) And if that isn't a possibility, you could just copy your game folder to an external, a flash or new folder on your computer where the other backups should go. and when you need it, just put it backinto your game folder, replacing the old one.
no idea why the game backup isn't working. Maybe different folder needs to be used????

Thanks, that does seem to work, but it would be great if I could get OOTP working correctly. Anyone else have thoughts?
