Trying to start a new league and have a few questions
Hey All
So I want to start a new league and start in 1919. Here is what I would like to do and just need to know if it is possible and what options I would hit to do so. 1- I want to change the team I control in certain years. I want to start with the White Sox but also mess with my Mets as we get in later years. 2- Can I make it to where each year the players who enter the league actually enter is that year whether it is in the minors or not? And will they enter on the correct team? 3- When the league expands can I make it expand and put the players on the team that belong without it taking players who are on a team already off a team? I am really kinda torn on how I want to do this. I am a Mets fan so when they come into play I want to use them but I also want to play with McGwire and Bonds and see how the do. I really want a chance to experience so much through the years. I know you can make it to where the players enter the draft but I would know who to draft and it would be unfair so don't want to do that really. Any ideas for someone who wants to play with so many different players and how to set it up. Thanks in advance. |

1) You can change teams or control multiple teams by creating multiple GM profiles and switching between them.
2) There is a new real life minor leagues system that I have not played. That may be what you want. The other option is players enter the league when they played their first MLB season, not MiLB season. 3) There is an option for "Real Life Transactions", that may do what you want.

1. Yes. I'd suggest you make two managers: one for "commissioner mode" and one for you to play with. You can use the commissioner one to change the other's team when you want. Also, you can use the commissioner mode manager to "act as" one of those teams just to make a few changes.
2. Yes. I think the key setting here is to uncheck the "random debut" box, I forget the exact location and phrasing. 3. I don't know what you are asking. There's a setting to use "actual rosters", if that's what you mean, so in 1962 suddenly Choo-Choo Coleman and whomever will automatically show up on the Mets. But I think that disables other ways for you to trade, draft, and so on. |

One more question all, Is there an easy way to create a league with my favorite teams from different era and import them. Example like the 86 mets and the 88 a's in the same league?

during game creation, you can press a button that allows you to select historic teams... i believe after it's created probably in the available options in LEague Structure - add historic team, maybe? look thorugh league structure and other related settings pages... ther is an online manual to find these things, too.
age may be an issue though? i don't think it changes birthdate, so you may have 30's and 70's year olds playing the same game, lol. I could be wrong, but if not: you can change the YoB column of the player export after creating the league... then import fixed YoB column make a note of the Year of each historic team you import... the difference between that and the starting year of your league is what you want to add or subtract from YoB. simple with a spreadsheet - even if you have to do it per team. not so much if you don't know how to use one. |
