How many Wild Pitches or passed balls in a typical game?

I find there are at least two or three a game with the app. Not sure if that is normal?

You can adjust those numbers using the modifiers under stats. 2-3 is a little high, but not necessarily abnormal. I probably get between 0 and 2.

When you say app it confuses me. Are you referring to the OOTP 17 game or the iPad version MLB manager. Sorry to be terminology anal.

Do you see two or three of each? Every game? You can check out exactly how many WP and PB in the team stats page vs games played to see if it is excessive. If it is you can adjust on the fly.

Either way WP are rare PB are very rare

In 2016 WP 1 every 2.7 games; PB 1 every 13 games.

Both rates are easy to control but not always in the first year of a league if the LT and LTM are off.

What type of league is it?

It's MLB Manager. When I play games there seems to be quite a few WP, Balks, PBs. I thought it was high so I asked in this forum since I don't get many replies in the MLBM forum.

if you like the other LTM, write them down or take a SS -- not sure if app can do that..

This will work for WP, PB, sacrifice bunts,... maybe more (maybe hbp, despite the following)... it won't be good for SB/SB% or any of the LTM tied to a Total, BABIP, etc... hopefully you see the common thread.

anyway, hit autocalc a few times and either average the resulting WP/what have you or roughly pick something in the middle o fthe min/max range you saw -- either is fine.

ootp's # on this is an excellent modern value (i don't play in other eras, not sure how tha twould effect this logic). being off a few .001's or even .010+ wil be a very small amount relative to ~167,000AB (and that % will scale to your league, too, unless very tiny, then be a bit more precise about the LTM)

Balks** this one defies this a bit... you'll have less resulotion of control over results. it wil step in 30-50balks at certain points then remain consistent for a while relative to changing the LTM. e.g. 40T 162G league: for me .494/.495 is demarcation line in my league (200?balks vs 250 - w/e it was i offset it with WP to get the # i wanted). #of teams and # of games may affect that "30-50" guesstimate above. anyway, changing from .495 - .510 doesn't move the meter a bit, but i'm guessing at intervals it will jump another 50 in that league.

if you see auto-calc bouncing it up and down around a particular value - that's going to be your "demacation line" estimate. it's going to be in there somewhere.

Only problem with that is I don't know anything about the app. Does it use LT and LTM.

The app runs on IOS and is a lite version of OOTP. It is a fun game for the casual OOTP player with little free time, but it has very limited options.

I cannot find stats to support the wild pitches and balks, but when I play the playoff games, like I did today, there seems to be at least two WP's, PB's or balks. Just wondering if it is normal?
