Fictional teams in historical league

I think I messed my game up bad. I was going along with a historical league, starting in 1986 with OOTP 14. I upgraded to OOTP 17 during the 1994 season. One thing I did was that I added two unaffiliated AAA teams somewhere along the line. One team had a mixture of made-up players and wash-outs... long story short I decided to promote the two unaffiliated AAA teams into MLB for 1995.

I copied the league and had one regular historical league and one with the fictional teams. I really enjoyed playing with the new teams in 1995 (some of the made-up guys were 2-way players). When the season flipped over to offseason, though, the two fictional teams were no longer listed in the MLB and their minor league affiliates were disbanded.

The team menu is normal for the two fictional teams (arbitration, etc.), but they don't have minor league teams anymore and aren't in the Major Leagues. And since the teams aren't listed anywhere in the team set-up area, I can't figure out how to put them there.

Can somebody help?
