One of the Hallowed Records; Oh So Close
So in the course of doing a Twins dynasty in the 70's Jim Rice came heart-breakingly close to one of the all-time, most impossible to break records. He made it to 55, but couldn't get to Joe D's 56 game hit streak. I think the closest I have had in all these years (13 or 14) playing the game was 44. It really is a hard one to break.

The radical vice of all these schemes, from a sociological point of view, is that C is not allowed a voice in the matter, and his position, character, and interests, as well as the ultimate effects on society through C's interests, are entirely overlooked. I call C the Forgotten Man"
