The Draft is Screwed Up

In 2019 for some reason don't have a first round pick. I picked #7 in the rule 5 draft and the only free agent I signed was an international one. Draft pick trading is off.[IMG]

The elephant in the room here is whether the new CBA compensation rules made the cut. If not, it's hypothetically possible that the OP signed a comp-eligible free agent and lost their first-rounder from that.

Not if he was picking #7 in the Rule 5. Then his 1st round pick would be protected from comp.

What if four teams earlier in the draft failed to sign their draftees, pushing his pick to #11?
