AI Trade Offers are bogus

I keep getting trade offers from teams that have no money, and when I click on "make this work now" on the trade screen no players make the deal work

Toss in some money to mitigate their deficit. Might weight the negotiations.

Good point.

If possible, in this situation, instead of reading "no players", it might eventually be cool if it stated something like "Due to budget constraints, no players will make this work, unless there is cash consideration."

Or something like that.

FYI, when you get the message saying, "are you interested in X", that basically means that they tried to run "make this work now" with your team, failed, but he still fits the criteria of your need. So if you want to trade for him, you're going to have to do a little work to make the deal.

Please explain how to make this sort of deal work, because I am not having any luck. I have my Trading AI Settings at: Average/Neutral.

It is just frustrating not being able to make trades.

Some players are really hard to trade for There's many other deals that are reasonable to make.

We'll look through sometime later and probably try to tweak a couple of these so that if the player is way too hard to get you won't get the email.

One thing that people often fail to consider is 40-man roster space. The AI might not have room for three players (for one) without putting two players that it likes on waivers.

Try finding a guy they really want rid of (bad salary, older, slumping) and put both players in the deal for two of your most desirable players. If that works, you have a starting point for negotiations. Also, don’t forget to add money if their budget is tight. It can still be attractive even if not required to make the deal work and money doesn’t require a 40-man roster spot.

As Dodger GM, I got offered Keuchel for Grandal straight up. I think most GMs would jump at that one.

In the real world a GM who offered a specific player to another GM without an "ask back" for one or more players would not gain much respect or get any bites. My response would be, "tell me what you want and I'll tell you if we have any reason to continue talking".

Edit: this is not me or the recipient trying to trade for a player. It's the player being offered which by definition should mean the AI has a deal in mind, or the offer should not be made
