Unknown Injuries

What's the point? Are the doctors too stupid to figure out from the MRI that he has a torn ligament or did x-ray showing his fractured leg become confusing? Why is there a need to add "drama" to the game that makes very little sense?

I mean, I could see and unknown condition if he eventually got diagnosed with cancer, aids, MS or some other debilitating disease; you know, those things that happen in MLB once every quarter of a century.

How do we shut off the ridiculous "unknown" injuries, because they aren't "unknown" to begin with. It's just stupid drama added to the game. Please provide a button or box where it can be shut off.

Thanks

Bum

You can uncheck the box in the Game Settings menu. It's under the injury frequency setting. I am not in front of the game right now so I can't remember the exact menu it's in, but it's there.

Oh sorry, I thought that's what you were referring to -- when a guy gets hurt and you have to wait to see what's wrong. There's really an "unknown" injury where even the doctors/trainers can't diagnose a player?!

I didn't know that.

Yes, it's called "Undisclosed injury". It normally happens in the offseason in my experience. I feel as though as GM I should be able to know what's wrong with my player!

Oh yeah. You get an email that says Dug Riddler has an unknown injury that will last an unknown amount of time. Playing him may increase the chances of worsening the injury (since it's unknown, I'm not sure how they would know this; maybe these doctors are actually weather predictors?)....then in all likelihood a few sims later your player suddenly has a torn ligament or muscle and is out for a lengthy time period. How are those "unknown" injuries to begin with?

To answer your question, yes it is different than the TBD injuries.

Thanks

I have had 2 recently on the same team...and they were listed as "unknown" injuries...and they happened during the season....maybe I got the game with doctors that went to Purdue?

"Undisclosed injury" just means the doctor knows what it is and won't tell you. Which I'm 100% certain means he broke his schlong or something. Good grief, there's such a thing as too much information.

"Diagnosis pending" is something else entirely and can be turned off as described.

I'm not referring to either of those things or to the TBD thing as that is turned off in this league. This is specifically called "unknown" with no injury listed and no time frame for recovery.

Speaking of injuries. Anyone know what an “XST” injury is? I see some guys have that listed as their problem in my 2018 start and have no clue what that is. Also funny is prince fielder is a free agent with a neck injury that puts him out for 166 months.

Are you referring to an injury where the recovery time has changed to unknown? If not, I need a screenshot to understand your issue.

I have not seen one of these where the injury itself is unknown. The injury was known, but it is just no longer listed after the recovery period becomes uncertain. However, the player history will still show the type of injury.

The only unknown injuries I have seen were "carry over injuries" from my v18 game imported into v19. With the "new injury system including history" added to the game I took it as the v19 couldn't add\read the v18 diagnosis so listed it as "unknown" but still kept the length of the injury intact.

Other than that every injury I've seen in v19 has had a "diagnosis".

Prince Fielder I believe is still being paid by Texas for his career ending injury. Only way the game can account for his salary.
