League totals modifiers in tournaments
I have a tournament set up composed of teams from some other fictional leagues. Each of the constituent leagues has slightly different league totals modifiers, but the stats output in the tournament is drastically different than the average LTMs of each of the leagues.
Specifically, homeruns are up about 2-fold, while most other stats are roughly what I would expect/want them to be. Strangely, the game will not let me auto-calc modifiers for tournaments. When I enter in new league totals for the tournament and click auto-calc, nothing happens. Has anyone else had issues with this? Found any solutions? |

the first thing you explain is why it occurs.
it's callibrated by teh competition in those leagues as well as the modifiers/totals when you click auto-calculate for the modifiers. so you are mixing competition and different results will ensue. the same "power" ratings equates to different results in each league due to different settings. you'd have to make that all static, then adjust quality of those leagues or PCM's to cause the differences in stats between the leagues... then, when you form a tournament, power equates to same likely results... if one league is less powerful, the pcm's will cause less power in the ratings and not through LTM/LT changes. this is a big gripe of mine with ootp.. it's wokring the wrong way to get to the same ends... and it doesn't work well for what you are trying to do for that exact same reason. if they didn't do it this way, historical stuff would work better too.. .you wouldn't need to change any LTM/LT's.. the players would be slowly changing with PCM's or affecting distribution instead (ie low power in early years, but a few guys hit for a ton of power, obvsiouly, so their needs to be fewer made with power compared to later years) this is one thing they do @@@backward. logicaly, rationally, laws of probabilty etc.. it's probably a shortcut or makes something else easier.. maybe unavoidable the way it is built, even. haven't done a tourny, but auto-calculate is only available during ST or presason and ST.. limited time. not sure when you can for a tournament of if you have to do it at same time.. maybe takes an average of all the leagues etc before teams are even in teh tourney... that is what i'd put my money on, anyway, if it is ever available. so, check earlier.. check in preseason, then ST, then opening day... click it at the latest date possible, imo. maybe it's better before any injuries? i stick to opening day for a regular leauge. I get something similar. Auto-calc launches an error msg about maybe rosters are filled correctly. No idea what that could mean. Unless I want to pour ample time into configuration tournaments are smoked? (well, it is a sandbox game...) I tried entering LT by hand off modified spreadsheet figures and that didn't go well. So it seems I need to know the fundamentals of how LT and LTM work, including the math relations... but even then - if outcomes for a team are relative to the other teams' output in the league then mixing teams from different leagues - all leagues will need to be harmonized. Which is precisely how tournaments do not work IRL?
